Butter
I have a present fascination with butter. Today I went to the supermarket (late at night, while nobody was there) and stared, dumbfounded, at the butter section. There are so many varieties, and so many brands, and looking at it made me very hungry. All of this butter infatuation started because I bought some "Real Irish Butter" from VONS recently and have been living on a steady diet of buttered toast ever since. It's very creamy and rich, and lightly salted. When I finish this block of butter, I'm going to buy the Land-O-Lakes European Butter. (Is anybody surprised?) This time it's not a concerted attempt to be fashionable, it's because it's supposed to be creamier. Then I'm going to try the unsalted variety -- that should be creamier as well.
I also want to say that I really appreciate Alf's comeback on the 10-10-220 commercials. I mean, that sure beats Carrot Top on 1-800-CALL-ATT, right? I like that this advertising campaign brings Alf to a whole new generation. He ruled the 80's, and who knew that the alien life form could be resurrected almost 20 years later? Plus, he doesn't look like he's aged a day.
As a follow-up to the previous entry, today I did buy that steak I've been craving.
I wonder if the day will ever arrive when I stop talking about food and celebrities on this thing.
